You Can Now Use Apps Like Spotify and Canva Right Inside ChatGPT

In Short
  • You can now use popular apps like Spotify, Canva, Coursera, and Expedia directly within ChatGPT for free.
  • You can now ask ChatGPT to create a playlist, design a post, or book a trip, all without leaving the chat.
  • This feature is available to all ChatGPT users, and developers can also build their own apps using OpenAI’s new Apps SDK.

At its DevDay 2025 event, OpenAI recently dropped a huge update to chat with apps inside ChatGPT. That’s right, you can now use your favorite apps, like Spotify, Canva, Coursera, Figma, Booking.com, Expedia, and Zillow, right within ChatGPT.

Imagine this: You tell ChatGPT, “Hey, make me a chill playlist for coding,” and boom, Spotify pops up inside your chat with a custom playlist ready to play. Or maybe you’re designing a quick post for Instagram? Just say, “Open Canva and make a minimalist post about my new blog,” and you’re designing directly in ChatGPT.

Apps in ChatGPT give answers in natural language and let you interact with them directly inside the chat. Right now, you can use apps like Booking.com, Canva, Coursera, Figma, Expedia, Spotify, and Zillow. OpenAI also plans to add more apps soon, including DoorDash, OpenTable, Instacart, Uber, and AllTrails.

This new app integration is available to all logged-in ChatGPT users, including the Free, Go, Plus, and Pro plans. The only drawback? Users in the European Union will have to wait a little longer, as this feature isn’t available there yet.

OpenAI also launched a new Apps SDK based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This means developers can now build their apps and bring them directly into the ChatGPT ecosystem. OpenAI also reported that ChatGPT’s weekly active users have reached 800 million, up from 700 million in August. This means they are just short of reaching their lofty goal of 1 billion users by the end of 2025.
