Samsung has officially announced the date of its highly anticipated launch event for its latest flagship smartphone series, the Galaxy S24, which will take place at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event on January 17, 2024. The event venue is set at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
Samsung’s official Twitter handle posted a tweet featuring an invitation titled “Who’s Ready For New Era of Mobile AI.” In the tweet, the company unveiled that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Unpacked Event is scheduled for January 17 at 10 AM PST (or 11:30 PM IST).
What do we expect from the Galaxy S24?
For months, rumors have suggested that The Galaxy S24 series will have three models: the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Leaks also suggest that the Galaxy S24 will bring new AI features, like Galaxy AI, which is Samsung’s alternative to ChatGPT and Google Bard.
The Galaxy S24 series is expected to upgrade its specs, including using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 chipset (depending on the region), up to 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. Its display will have a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 2,600 nits. The Galaxy S24 will have a 6.2-inch screen, the S24+ a 6.7-inch, and the S24 Ultra a massive 6.8-inch screen.
The cameras on the Galaxy S24 series will also receive enhancements. The S24 and S24+ will be featuring a 50MP main camera and a 3x telephoto lens, capable of recording 8K videos. Meanwhile, the S24 Ultra will feature a 200MP main camera along with two telephoto lenses, one offering 3x zoom and another providing 10x zoom.
The Galaxy S24 series is planned to come in four colors: Onyx Black, Cobalt Violet, Marble Gray, and Amber Yellow. The S24 and S24+ will have Armor Aluminum 2.0 casings, while the S24 Ultra will feature a new Titanium frame. Battery capacities are anticipated to range from 4,000mAh for the Galaxy S24, 4,900mAh for the S24+, to 5,000mAh for the S24 Ultra.
Samsung has also started pre-reservations for the Galaxy S24 series, offering exclusive benefits, such as a Rs 5,000 discount, to customers who register before the launch date.
